Himalayan Pink Salt: Why You Need To Dump the White Stuff

Himalayan Pink Salt: Why You Need To Dump the White Stuff

Himalayan Pink Salt contains 84 minerals, macrominerals, and trace minerals.

Wanna hear something crazy? I know you do. These are the same 84 minerals and trace minerals that your body needs to function properly.

For years we’ve all heard about how bad salt is for us, right? Well, Himalayan Pink Salt is good for you. I’m serious, folks. The salt that is bad for you is refined table salt. Unfortunately, even sea salt is becoming more and more refined. When salt is refined, everything that can possibly be beneficial to you and your health is taken away from it. Doesn't make much sense, does it? I mean, what's the point? Why take something that could actually be beneficial to you and purposely go through the trouble of making it bad for you?

Here's why Himalayan Pink Salt is the new health craze. Himalayan Pink Salt has never been exposed to impurities or toxins of any kind. Not only has it been buried underneath the Himalayan Mountains and has been completely protected from the elements for eons, but nothing has been taken away from it and nothing has been added to it.

It is 100% pure.

Go figure, if we humans don’t go messing with what nature already provides for us, it can actually be beneficial to us. Some have claimed using pink salt is like sprinkling a little bit of magic on every plate of food.

Himalayan Pink Salt is also used externally by holistic therapists and spas. Pink salt is popular in forms of face and body scrubs, soaps, bath salts, and other topical products. Himalayan salts have many therapeutic properties and have been used to treat many ailments including acne and acne scars.

Himalayan salt has been buried deep in the Himalayan mountains for 250 million years. It is not refined, nor is it stripped of anything, or mixed with additives. It is 100% natural.

It is the purest salt on the planet and actually brings with it many health benefits.

The Top Benefits of Himalayan Pink Salt

  1. Lowers Blood Pressure. Yup, I know, you’re used to hearing that salt raises blood pressure. Too much refined salt can definitely be harmful but Himalayan Pink Salt has actually been proven to stabilize AND help reduce blood pressure.
  2. Natural Detox Agent. Pink salt removes toxins and heavy metals from the body.
  3. Prevents Muscle Cramps. This is very useful for anyone who suffers from muscle cramps (like me).
  4. Increases Libido. Come on, what’s not totally awesome about that?!
  5. Reduces Acid Reflux and Balances pH Levels
  6. Helps Metabolism Run Swift and Smoothly
  7. Strengthens Bones
  8. Improves Circulation and Overall Vascular Health
  9. Helps the Intestines Absorb More Nutrients
  10. Prevents Goiters
  11. Reduces the Signs of Aging
  12. Treats and Prevents Acne and Other Skin Conditions

Himalayan Pink Salt has also been shown to help with many other ailments such as ear infections, headaches, foot fungus, motion sickness, menstrual cramps, sore throats, digestive issues, and many more. I encourage you to do your own research and find out why you should dump the white salt and start using the pink stuff.

Here’s How Other Salts Add Up

Table Salt

Forget about it. This salt has been stripped of all of it’s minerals and even it’s iodine. Anything and everything that is beneficial is taken out of it. You want to know how? It’s cleaned with bleach. Yup, you heard me. It is chemically washed with bleach and is heated at very high temps.

Then if the iodine is put back into it (it often isn’t), it is most likely a synthetic iodine. Yes, you read that right. They take the real iodine out of it… and then put synthetic iodine into it. Ugh. Anytime I hear synthetic, I just want to scream. Our bodies are not meant to ingest synthetic properties. We are human beings, not garbage cans. Our bodies cannot process synthetic materials.

Sea Salt:

Sea salt is really not that much better than table salt. It is the lesser of the two evils, but it’s still not the best choice. Unfortunately, sea salt is becoming more and more processed. But that isn’t even my own personal biggest concern. I just can’t get past the fact that every year our seas are becoming more and more polluted. Not just with the continued oil spills and garbage dumping, but also the nuclear waste that finds it’s way into our waters. Now that REALLY scares me. I couldn’t even process the whole Fukushima nuclear disaster. Over 800 tons of radioactive material poured into the Pacific Ocean. My God, I don’t want to eat anything that comes from the Pacific Ocean… like ever.

Where Do You Get Himalayan Pink Salt?

{This article contains affiliate links. See bottom of page for details.}

Fortunately, you can get Himalayan Pink Salt almost anywhere nowadays. It used to be a lot harder to find and a lot more expensive, but today it is available almost everywhere and very affordable. Most of the larger grocery chains carry it and of course the health stores, but they will be more expensive in these types of stores. Your best bet at getting the cheapest price is to either look at discount stores such as Marshall’s, T.J. Maxx, and Home Goods or order on Amazon here. You can even find pink salt on the shelves at Hell-Mart and Target.

I found this pink salt grinder at Target. You can also find grinders here.

You will most likely find pink salt in the form of a salt grinder but sometimes you’ll get lucky and find it in the fine granulated form. If you see the granulated in a store, snatch it up because sometimes it's harder to find than the course salt. You can also find the granulated pink salt here on Amazon.

The fine salt is great for swapping out your regular table salt. Just fill up your shaker with the pink stuff and

BAM!

You're instantly healthier!

Make the switch and do something good for your health. If you’re going to use salt, why not use the stuff that’s actually good for you?

*Affiliate Disclaimer: Half of Gabby has recently become an Amazon Affiliate. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires all affiliates to put a disclaimer on their website/blog. Most disclaimers are so filled with confusing lingo that you don’t even understand what they're saying. I’m going to break it down for you the way I'd want it to be broken down for me. I’m not a fan of complicated and unclear regulation jargon. So here’s the dealio. Half of Gabby takes up a tremendous amount of my time. But because I love it so much, I really want to continue dedicating my time to it. For six years now, I have been providing product links to products that I use and love and in turn recommend them to my readers. These products have helped me maintain a healthy lifestyle and/or improve my family life. I have helped sell countless products for six years and have never received any commissions… Until now. As of September 15, 2016, I will be providing links just as I've always done, but now will receive a very small commission if you purchase an item through the affiliate link that I provide. An affiliate link is simply a link that brings you to a place where you can buy that product. I will not earn a commission by you simply clicking on the link, you must actually purchase the item(s) within 24 hours of putting it in your Amazon cart. Prices are exactly the same for you if you purchase through an affiliate link on Half of Gabby. You will NOT pay more by clicking through the link. My promise to you is that I will never recommend a product that I don’t fully 100% believe in and/or use myself and recommend to close friends and family. This will allow me to continue working hard on Half of Gabby without it using up time that I need to otherwise dedicate to contributing to my household. I'm happy to be able to continue my blog and to continue talking with, meeting, and helping people all over the world with their health journeys!
